Beggars can’t be choosers Mr. Gachhadhar
The saying that goes, beggars can’t be choosers has been proven wrong in the Nepali political scenario. Bijay Gachhadhar has recently demanded Ministries like Home Affairs, Water Resources, Physical Planning and Works, Local Development, Communications, Education and Health for his party or as one may say for him and his supporters. Gachhadhar led faction of Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) Saturday said distribution of ministerial portfolios based on discussion only between the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress will be unacceptable. Organizing a press conference in the capital, Deputy Prime Minister and expelled parliamentary party leader Gachhadhar stressed the MJF should also be consulted with for the issue.“Madhesh-based parties have significant role in government formation,” he said.Gachhadhar further went on to say that the alliance of Madheshi parties ― which include MJF, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) and Sadbhawana Party ― should get important ministries like Home Affairs, Water Resources, Physical Planning and Works, Local Development, Communications, Education and Health.“MJF or other Madhesh-based parties will not take the ministries given up by Congress and UML,” he said adding the Madhesh-based parties must have respected participation. The beleaguered MJF leader opined that the party’s name-list of ministers has not been finalized yet as ministries have not been finalised. The faction will move forward by strengthening the current democratic government, he said while making public the decision made by the Saturday’s meeting of the MJF lawmakers and central members who joined Gachhadhar after he was expelled from the party. As per the rule of law, Bijay Kumar is already non active in MJF, as such he not only is expelled from his party but on moral ground should also resign from the post of Deputy Prime Minister. His own party has made him a beggar and now he cant be the chooser by making demands for Ministries for his supporters on behalf of MJF.
