Hindu’s under attack, Maoists now terrorizing religion
The Maoists have now started to intervene and terrorize the religious people and one such incident is them mercilessly beating the head priests of the Pashupatinath temple. The Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood who visited the Pashupati Nath Shrine on Saturday September 5, 2009 along with Nepal’s Minister for Federal and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Minendra Rijal, said the beating of the Indian priests at the Pashupati Temple was an unfortunate and a highly deplorable incident. “I am shocked by the incident…we have taken the matter seriously”, said the Indian envoy, Rakesh Sood, talking to journalists after he visited the shrine. The Ambassador told the media men that “several Indian temples have Nepali nationals as main priests, similarly, Indians too have been appointed main priests at the Pashupatinath Temple, this is bringing people of both the countries together since ages”, he said. On Friday, September 4, 2009, allegedly the Maoists’ cadres were involved in a ghastly incident wherein the Indian main priests Sri Raghabendra Bhatta and Sri Giris Bhatta were mercilessly thrashed, their clothes and sacred thread (janai) torn apart. This attack to the Hindu religion is a cowardly and a disgraceful act put up by the terrorists and they have to be punished or else on the basis of beliefs there could be a serious mishap.
